Santa Fe, Texas High School Shooting

May 18, 2018
There was a sophomore baseball player who was one of the ten people who was injured by the School Shooting in the high school located in the Houston area. It was later confirmed that the Dimitrios Pagourtzis was the school shooter in Santa Fe High school and has killed ten people and injured ten people. Dimitrios Pagourtzis was convicted by the crime of murder.
According to Robert, who was one of an injured student of the incident says that “The shooter walked in the classroom tosses something in the classroom.” He mentioned before the attacker ran into the hallway, there are three loud sounds. He did not realize that he had already injured until he ran out of the building. (Dalesio).
“Republicans and Democrats tend to look at the same tragedy from very different perspectives,” Mark Jones, a Rice University political scientist, said Monday. “Democrats look at Santa Fe and their most popular answer tends to be that gun control is the correct response to keep this from happening in the future. Whereas Republicans don’t see it that way. They don’t believe gun control would have any impact or is even germane”(Samuels).
At least one student isn't at all surprised that a deadly shooting happened at her high school in Texas.
The disappointing fact is that some students in the incident are not as surprised about this school shooting because they think their school will eventually be a target of a school shooting since school shootings are everywhere in the United States nowadays.
"Paige Curry, who is 17, says ‘it's been happening everywhere’ and that she ‘always ... felt like that eventually it was going to happen here too.’ Gov. Greg Abbott says 10 people were killed and 10 more were injured Friday morning when a gunman opened fire at Santa Fe High School" (Dalesio).

Bath Consolidated School Shooting yEArs later
There was a tragedy that happened in the Bath Consolidated School back in time when the school shooting was not as common as is it now. The motive of the school shooting was a revenge on the high taxes collected from the citizen by the government in order to build a school which is located in the country area. This raised the anger of the school attacker Kehoe to place a bomb in Bath Consolidated School. This incident has later become a historical marker of the region to ensure the tragedy will not be forgotten (Leach).

People who have experienced the Bath Consolidated School Shooting cooperate with the government in order to found a memorial of the incident. The memorial records the people who are injured and dead in the horrible incident

"The site, James Couzens Memorial Park, features a few modest memorials commemorating the disaster, including the original cupola from the destroyed school building. Vail wants to keep the site that way and rejects a proposal pending before the township's Board of Trustees to build a memorial pavilion there" (Dav).
