UVA School Shooting in 1840
The University of Virginia School Shooting in the year of 1840 is one of the earliest school shooting in America. This school shooting is significant because the school shooting in Virginia involves an evil behavior that was made by the student school shooter, Davis to the professor of the school. The school shooting in the University of Virginia makes most of the people in the past to realize the evilness of the school shooting (“John Anthony Gardner Davis”).
The professor who was killed by his student in this incident was well- loved by his students and has made uncountable to the University of Virginia as well as new ideas of teaching to the school of law (“John Anthony Gardner Davis”).
“One of his key contributions to the curriculum of the School of Law was to divide it into a junior class and a senior class: the junior course included studies that ‘form an essential part of a liberal professional education’ while the senior course was ‘exclusively occupied with the study of the theory and practice of the Law as a profession” (“John Anthony Gardner Davis”).

Virginia Tech Shooting on April 16, 2007
Virginia Tech School shooting must be one of the deadliest school shooting in US history, which has more than 20 people injured or dead during the incident. This tragedy was caused by a student who studied in the Virginia Tech who suffered in from a mental disease. His intention was unknown in the after the school shooting for a long time. After people had realized that the student who committed a school shooting and suicide is under a mental disease and mental disease problem that can cause the school shooting had raised people’s concern (“Virginia Tech Shootings”).

After the incident, the government responded to the incident by giving its deepest sympathies. According to the information about the shootings occurred on campus, there were two shootings in total and each one had serious fatalities. This incident brought huge tension and fear to the university. Everyone is deeply shocked and grieved. The government officials stated that they were sorry for all those victims lost in the shooting, the family that lost their loved ones, and the university members that suffered so badly, both mentally and physically, in this tragedy. Young lives diminished and the government is giving the most sincere sympathies to the living ones, to comfort the nerves of the university students and to provide the most understandings that they could give to the families (“Virginia Tech Shootings”).

This kind of massive school shooting is extremely rare in history. Take the shooter for instance. After the school is locked down, he has been captured by the hospital and the school shooter shows no mercy towards people. The medical center is near the Virginia Tech Campus that he killed two of the security guards in the hospital and escaped because everything is locked down. On his way of escaping, the school shooter has pulled out his gun again and shot a sheriff deputy while he was chased by him after he is found out that he has killed securities from the hospital. When he is finally in front of the trail, a lot of people are relieved and hope justice can give him the punishment that he should receive.
"And he's standing trial, I believe, in September on those charges. So this was really reminiscent of that time. And I just happened to look up a few minutes ago I remembered the Columbine disaster had happened in the month of April, and I was wondering what date it was. It was April 20, 1999. This was the 16th” (“Virginia Tech Shootings”).

The legacy of Columbine High School shooting 19 years later
The high school shooting was a disaster happened in the year of 1999. There were two high school students who are armed in the campus of the high school and stalked the principle in 1999, Frank DeAngelis and shot him in his chest. There is a memorial that was built in the year of 2018 to memorize this principle that is named by the name of the principle. The two students not only killed the principle but also killed 13 students including "a much-loved gym coach" (March).
As the principle recalls of the incident, "‘As I ran out of my office my worst nightmare became a reality because I came through the office doors and looking down, probably about 75 yards, was a gunman pointing a long gun at me,’ Mr. DeAngelis recalls. There had been school shootings in America before Columbine - Jonesboro, West Paducah, Springfield - but none played out on live television as Columbine did” (March).

People who experienced the school shooting think more action is needed to decrease the potential danger that might happen to students in America. Although some people suggest that the party should arm teachers or have stricter gun control. However, “For Craig Scott, the solution is not political, but emotional. His story of surviving Columbine is one of the most horrific. Mr. Scott was a 16-year-old student in the library doing homework with friends when a teacher ran in and told them to hide under their desks. The gunmen came over and singled out his friend, Isaiah Shoels, one of the school's few black students. ‘The last thing that he said was, 'I wanna see my mom',’ Mr. Scott remembers. ‘And they shot and killed him. And they shot and killed my friend Matt. And they left me underneath that table.’ It was only later he learned his 17-year-old sister, Rachel, was the first person the gunmen killed as she sat on the school lawn eating lunch” (March).

The survivors of the incident stayed strong after this massive school shooting happened in the Columbine High School. However, some people are not as confident as others who have also experienced in the school shooting of Columbine High School. One of the survivors, who has now becomes a parent his children has a problem to overcome (March).
“In the four years since he has tried unsuccessfully to pass legislation making it easier for licensed adults to carry guns on school properties. ‘I was freaked out the next day after the Parkland shooting, dropping my own kids off, knowing that I leave them totally defenseless,’ he said” (March).

The legacy of the Columbine High school shooting is an important historical marker in history. The recovery of the victims who are dead and injured in history should be memorized. And the school shooter was punished harshly by the will of the people all across the country (March).
