Poster Project

Assignment #5
My fifth assignment related to the school shooting is an examination of school shooters. It is an informative poster as well as propaganda related to the gun violence in school. My thought process for me to do the poster is that it gives me the opportunity to dig in my research topic so that the whole project is more comprehensive.
In the poster, there is a boy who does not wear any clothes. The boy is pulling a gun against the head of a wounded eagle, which is painted in national flag color. The boy also has cutting wounds on his wrist and bruises over his body. The boy also carries a knife in his pocket.
The eagle that is painted in red and blue symbolizes America. The gun that is pulled against its head suggests that it is very urgent to fix the gun violence issue in America. The eagle is bleeding badly already, and those wounds are not caused by the boy who holds a gun, but other facts. It symbolizes the fact that America is already suffering from a great number of issues across the nation and gun violence is the most dangerous one.
The idea of the poster contains very detailed thinking relating to the facts of school shooters in America. The first fact is that most of the school shooters are male, as a result, the boy in the poster is a male figure. It is easy to tell that the boy’s arrogant face symbolizes the fact that most of the school shooters see themselves as the God and the king of the world. Most school shooters have trouble understanding people’s feelings that they think they have the right to decide people’s life and this is the reason that they are diffident about killing people. It is an irony that the contrast between the boy’s attitude and the fact that the boy is not wearing any clothes that although he thinks he is a king he does not even wear clothes. The reason that he carries a gun and the cutting wounds on his wrists shows that most of the school shooters are suicidal, and they plans to commit suicide after the school shooting. The bruises on the boy’s body suggest that the reason that there are school shooters who are violent is they usually have domestic violence when they grow up. They were victims of domestic violence, and this fact plays an important role in their personality and thought process.
